Dual Diagnosis Anonymous World Services' mission is to serve people who struggle with both mental illness and addictions, reduce their suffering, and empower them to develop a successful program of recovery. We recognize that the dually diagnosed are among the highest risk of relapse of all mental health populations, but recovery is possible with the sponsorship offered by the fellowship of Dual Diagnosis Anonymous.

Dual Diagnosis Anonymous is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation. Donations of money, equipment, volunteer time, and mentoring are greatly appreciated.

DDA History

DDA began as a network of peer supported groups established in San Bernardino, California by persons in recovery and recovery resource professionals of the local community. DDA was established based on the expressed needs of cually dignosed persons who desire a place and opportunity to come together, share experiences with, and receive support from fellow dually diagnosed persons. The organization was incorporated as Dual Diagnosis Anonymous World Services, Inc. as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in 1998.

Dual Diagnosis Anonymous quickly developed partnerships with the County of San Bernardino Behavioral Health Office of Drug and Alcohol Programs and community mental health clinicians, alcohol and drug counselors, residential recovery program staff and others representing the interests of those persons with dual diagnosis' (co-occurring disorders). This collaborative was called the Co-Occurring Disorders Task Force of San Bernardino County. Well respected pioneers in the field of co-occurring disorders have provided technical assistance to the test force. Consultants have included Kenneth Minkoff, M.D., Mary Ann Barr, Ph.d, Marti Jessup, R.N., M.S., and Hillary Ryglewicz, A.C.S.W.
